What pets can you create portraits of?+
We can work from clear photographs of cats, dogs, horses, rabbits, birds and many other companion animals. What matters most is having enough visual detail to recognise the features and markings that make your pet distinctive.
What makes a good source photo?+
Choose a sharp, well-lit image where the face, eyes and important markings are easy to see. Natural, even light is ideal. An original or high-resolution image is preferable, but a clear phone photograph can work very well.
Will the final portrait copy the exact pose and background?+
Not necessarily. Your photograph is treated as an identity reference, not a rigid pose template. We preserve the recognisable details of your pet while allowing posture, composition and environment to be refined into a stronger finished artwork.
Can I send more than one photograph?+
Yes. One main photograph is required, and you can add up to two optional reference images. Extra angles are useful when a marking, eye colour or coat detail is not fully visible in the main photograph.
Which sizes are available?+
Custom portraits are available in 30×40 cm, 40×50 cm, 50×70 cm, 60×80 cm and 70×100 cm.
Which finishes can I choose?+
Options include fine art print, canvas, white wood frame, natural wood frame, dark wood frame, black wood frame, black metal frame and framed canvas. Framed canvas is available up to 60×80 cm.
Is every portrait made to order?+
Yes. Custom portraits are created individually from your own photographs and made to order in your chosen size and finish.
Do I need a professional photograph?+
No. A clear, well-lit phone photograph can be an excellent reference. Clarity and recognisable detail matter more than professional equipment.
Can I order a portrait as a gift?+
Yes. A custom portrait can make a meaningful gift. Choose a clear photograph of the recipient’s pet and select the size and finish when ordering.
What is the Cat Art collection?+
Cat Art is our separate ready-made gallery. Unlike commissioned portraits, these pieces are existing artworks selected for their character, composition and ability to live beautifully in an interior.

What sizes do Cat Art prints come in?
Most designs are available from A4 (21×29.7 cm) up to A0 (84.1×118.9 cm), and many also come in square sizes from 25×25 cm. Each product page lists its exact sizes in both cm and inches.
Can Cat Art prints be framed?
Yes. Most designs are available in white, natural, dark or black wood frames, in a slim black metal frame (50×70 cm and 70×100 cm), or as canvas. Wood frames arrive ready to hang with a hanging kit included.
What paper are the prints made on?
Paper prints are made on 200 gsm semi-glossy paper, silky to the touch, for rich tones and fine detail.
Are Cat Art prints original paintings?
No. They are high-quality art prints of Whisker Atelier artworks, printed to order. They are not hand-painted originals.
Is delivery free?
Yes, delivery is free to the UK, the EU, Switzerland, Norway, the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Orders to our Asia shipping zone are charged a flat £4.99, and ship free on orders over £99.99. The delivery cost is always shown at checkout before you pay.
How long does delivery take?
Cat Art prints are made to order within 2–3 business days. Custom portraits are created individually, so allow a little longer before dispatch. UK delivery typically takes 2–4 business days after dispatch; international times vary by destination.
Where are orders printed?
Your artwork is printed at the production partner nearest to your delivery address, so orders travel a shorter distance and often arrive sooner.
Can I return my order?
Cat Art prints can be returned within 30 days of delivery if undamaged and in their original packaging; return postage is paid by the customer. Custom portraits are made to order from your photo, so they cannot be returned for a change of mind. Anything that arrives damaged, faulty or incorrect is replaced or refunded at no cost.
